How does OMR software works?

Technology today must be credited for revolutionizing many fields. And many interesting inventions has created that made work easier and proved to be helping hand. One such software developed from creating question paper to evaluating and generating report card. The software with diversified multiple features known as OMR which stands for Optical Mark Recognition. OMR software is used to read human marked data from documents to checking of OMR sheets.

The computer based software application was designed to process n number of OMR sheets. It captures the optical mark created on the form and extracts data from the fields ranging from check boxes, fill in the fields, and from the printed forms etc. The software can read the data marked by blue or black pen or HB (darker pencil). But the software will reject those forms that are incorrectly filled or half filled.

With the help of this software you can design your own template and even design various ranges of sheets ranging from initial OMR answer sheet to complex bubbled sheet. The in-built designing tool in the software offers simple customization. Once the sheet design is ready, you can now print it by using any printer either inkjet printer or any other printer. You can make use of any normal paper such as legal, A3, A4 or A5.

Now you have printed the OMR sheet and after the commencement of the examination, the sheets can be easily evaluated by using the scanner. You can either use flatbed, ADF scanner or MFP. You simply need to put the sheets into the scanner and the scanner will scan the document and saved in the folder. The OMR reader software will then read the scanned documents saved in the folder and will generate the report. The software holds the capacity to read about 300 sheets per minute.

Once the software has completed reading the all the documents, it will then generate report. The report generated can be exported in any desired format such as Excel, access, or CSV or in SQL format. The result generated consists of total scores, rank, section- wise report and percentage of the students. Also, it includes the comparison with the topper, subject wise and many more.

This software is in huge demand in the various sectors like education, corporate, technology, research to evaluate the performance and rate the ranking. Using the OMR software has simplified the work from registration of the candidates to generating the report. Further, the generated report can be saved for future analysis.
